As long as you remain close to the same weight, the fat will not come back. It won’t come back in the same area, and it won’t come back in different areas either. That’s probably the most common myth about liposuction that I want to address right off the bat. If you stay healthy and maintain a stable weight, the trouble area is gone for good after lipo!

What Is Lipo360 in Orlando?

The most common trouble areas for women are the lower belly, love handles, and bra roll. To simplify, I often will call liposuction of these three areas Lipo360. To correct these common areas of unwanted fat, we perform liposuction of the back, flanks, and abdomen: lipo 360 in Orlando.

Liposuction is performed via small incisions about the length of a pinky fingernail. I can hide all of these incisions in the bikini and bra line so that they won’t be visible in a two-piece or lingerie. If you have good skin quality without many stretch marks and haven’t had a lot of weight fluctuations, your skin will retract (tighten) back down to fit your new contours.

Fat Transfer With BBL or Hip Dip Correction

While we might want to simply get rid of the fat we’ve lipo’d, some women may want to enhance their curves by adding the fat back to the hips and butt. In fat transfer procedures, I process the fat from liposuction for injection to fill out the hips and buttocks, depending on your goals. If you’re looking for more buttock size and projection, we can perform a BBL or Brazilian butt lift.

A Brazilian butt lift is a gluteal augmentation procedure accomplished by fat transfer. Fat is removed from an undesired area of your body—such as the stomach, hips, or thighs—with liposuction, then purified and readied for injection into the superficial part of your buttocks to improve your shape and increase volume. If, however, you are just bothered by your hip dips, we can transfer the fat to the hips in a procedure I have (not very creatively) named hip dip correction.

A Tailored Approach to a Curvier Body

My primary approach is to start with an assessment of your individual needs. A Brazilian butt lift can give you more shapely buttocks by adding projection, by adding hips (laterals), or both. Some women choose this procedure to have more balance and enhance their body proportions. It is also less invasive than a buttock augmentation using artificial implants (which I don’t recommend or perform).  

Body image and self-esteem are intimately linked. Having shapely buttocks can reflect your youthfulness, health, and sensuality. The problem is sometimes, even an exercise regimen is not enough to get the level of lift and roundness you desire. Worse, hip dips can worsen with exercise. What is Recovery Like After a Brazilian Butt Lift in Orlando?

Once your procedure is complete, you will be taken to a private room to begin your healing process. For some out-of-town patients, we can keep you overnight in our surgical facility recovery suite. Even if you are discharged right after surgery, we provide you with everything you will need for your recovery, including a BBL pillow, post-op fajas, recovery ointments, and scar gels. They all serve to improve your results and make your recovery smoother.

I perform all of my surgeries at my own surgery center, which is attached to the clinic. This way, I can control every aspect of your safety, from anesthesia (with my board-certified anesthesiologist) to recovery room care. 

I also perform all fat transfer procedures under ultrasound guidance so I know where the fat is going at all times. The major safety issues with BBL surgery are when they are performed “blind” without ultrasound. I simply will not allow you to have any added risk in fat injection procedures.

Keep in mind the following during your recovery:

  • You should stay clear of sitting directly on your butt (without a BBL pillow) for several weeks.
  • As part of the healing process, your buttocks will swell and bruise for a few days.
  • You rest a lot for the first two weeks.
  • You will have to wear a compression garment for healing benefits.
  • Your full recovery will take up to a couple of months.
  • You can plan to return to work after a few weeks.

Sitting After Your BBL or Hip Dip Correction

With hip dip correction, you don’t need to worry about putting pressure on the fat. Because we have filled out the “laterals” and not added “projection,” you can easily and comfortably sit for any period of time immediately after the procedure. When we have performed a BBL, on the other hand, we have added fat over the “sit bones,” or the ischium, so you’ll need a BBL pillow in your recovery, and you’ll want to avoid sitting for long periods of time early on after surgery. With the pillow, you can still have a tummy tuck at the same time and recovery from both procedures safely.

Safety With Fat Transfer

Safety is my number one goal, and beauty is a close second. I perform all fat injections under strict ultrasound guidance. The ultrasound probe allows me to have “3D x-ray” vision into the deeper tissues while the fat is being transferred. As long as the fat injections are performed in the fat layer, there is no mortality risk from fat embolism, which is the feared complication of fat transfer procedures like BBL. I have never had any such safety issues with a Brazilian butt lift in Orlando, and it is quite easy to know where you are with the injection process under ultrasound. It is my personal opinion that BBL-related mortality is the result of surgeons moving too fast and caring too little. You are not at risk of either of those problems with me.

If you are in good physical health, a non-smoker, and have enough excess fat to collect and inject in your buttocks is a good candidate for a Brazilian butt lift. You may want to wait if you are planning to lose a lot of weight, are currently pregnant, or are planning to have more children. BMI should be less than 30.

What are the risks of a Brazilian butt lift?

Although side effects such as bleeding and infection are possible, I take every precaution for a safe procedure. The greatest risk of a BBL is a fat embolism, where fat is inadvertently injected into the gluteal veins. During the BBL, I use an ultrasound machine to determine the depth of injection of fat in the subcutaneous tissues only. Since the gluteal veins are deep into the muscles, injection of fat only in the superficial tissues allows the BBL to be performed safely without risk of fat embolism. I am steadfast and uncompromising when it comes to patient safety.
